In 2000, Kappa revolutionized football apparel with the launch of the Kombat jersey. Moving away from the loose, oversized fits of the 1990s, Kappa introduced a tight, hyper-elastic design that redefined what a football shirt could be. The Italian National Team famously wore the Kombat kit during the 2000 European Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands, and throughout the early 2000s it was also adopted by clubs such as Roma, Real Betis, and Werder Bremen.
