The season prior they would change their name to SV Wüstenrot Salzburg, due to a sponsorship deal with an Austrian financial services corporation from SV Casino Salzburg. 6 seasons later in April 2005, the club would be taken over by the Red Bull company, changing its name and becoming Red Bull Salzburg
