With the World Cup taking place in the summer of 2014, the 2014-15 season has some classic designs, with brands attempting to out-do each other. Here are the 10 that we have chosen as our favourites from that season.

2014-15 Athletico Paranaense 90th Anniversary Third - Umbro


Limited edition third shirt celebrating the club’s 90th anniversary which merges the club colours to create a rich burgundy, with subtle two tone vertical stripes with gold detailing and a tailored button up collar. Umbro celebrating their own 90th in some style here.

2014-15 Netherlands Away - Nike


Forever remembered for the 5-1 demolition of World Champions Spain, atonement for 2010, which featured a spine tingling World Cup moment in the form of Robin Van Persie’s phenomenal flying Dutchman header. Already a collectors piece, RVP kindly informed us he still has his tucked away at home.

Cultural Leonesa released arguably the most talked about shirt of this campaign thanks to this outlandish Tuxedo design made by Hummel.

White away shirt with an eye-catching zigzagging wave pattern, in keeping with the clubs ’Tricolor’ traditions.

2014-15 Inter Milan Home - Nike


A drastic departure for Inter saw the first appearance of a pinstripe design on a dark backdrop. It would be understatement to say the opinion on this design split opinion.

2014-15 Monaco Home - Nike


Home shirt which features an updated club crest complimenting a sharp design for the club as they returned to Nike as their technical partner. Stylish diagonally divided halves in the famous Monégasque red and white colourway and a tailored collar complete another fine Nike production. Monaco’s youthful side, including Anthony Martial, captured attention across Europe in this campaign.

2014-15 Real Madrid Third - Adidas


Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto created Real Madrid’s most eye catching design of the decade, a black third shirt with a watermark design of a dragon king and bird dragon. Also featuring a white collar and detailing, with the designers signature transferred in the collar, this quickly become one of the most sought after (and valuable) jerseys of the era.

2014-15 Slovenia Home - Nike


It was a good year for Nike. This design uses the Slovenian mountain Mt Triglav styled in a visual echo to create a very cool design.

2014-15 UNAM Pumas Away - Nike


Pumas first Nike away jersey compliments navy blue with sponsor, logo, and swoosh detailing in the clubs famous gold colours. The club crest is subtle watermarked in a supremely elegant design.

2014-15 Lazio '115 Years' Anniversary Home


Recreation of the iconic ‘Maglia bandiera’ used in the 1980s. Interestingly the owners family owned the trademark rights for the eagle design, but managed to reach agreement to bring back to the highly anticipated shirt.
