The stars aligned for the club to produce their own kits following a court order preventing Nike taking over from Kappa until the following campaign. The result was a superb range, the highlight this fan selected third, complete with Roma Cares sponsor worn from December onward. The side rocketed to the top of Serie A kicking off with 13 straights wins but eventually fell away. This 50s inspired design however, detailed with a unique serial code in the collar lives long in the memory.
The Gunners marked the 10th anniversary of the Invincible’s campaign with this pleasing away shirt, the blue collar elegantly restored in one of the best examples of this Nike template in their final season as technical partner.
Superb centenary shirt worn in one game against Cagliari for the clubs 100th anniversary celebrations. Conceived and designed in Errea’s Parma headquarters using pure wool materials, a black cross on the chest combined with a lace neck collar, this kit is a fine example of a faithfully recreated retro shirt.
Based on the Chequered flag of Bavaria, the first of 1860’s Oktoberfest shirts is a truly unique design featuring a gingham pattern and a lace neck collar - topped off with an Aston Martin sponsor.
Napoli went far from under the radar with this surprise Macron designed ‘Camo’ away shirt, which proved hugely popular with supporters, but was rumoured to have landed the club in hot water over IP laws concerning use of the camouflage pattern.
Confederations Cup shirt paying tribute to the legendary Uruguayan side that triumphed at the 1924 Olympic Games, featuring optical lacing on the neck, in the colours of the Uruguayan flag. Another superb example of a retro infused design with modern technical specifications.
PSV ditched their famous red and white stripes with this old red design to celebrate their 100th season, referencing the colours worn when the side won the 1978 UEFA Cup. Subtle details such as famous arch from the gates of the Philips stadium and motto ‘Eendracht maak macht’ inside the collar, alongside a gold sponsor and centenary detailing on the club badge make this an instant classic.
Home shirt combining block colours reflecting each of the clubs values. Blue for grandeur, red for passion and white to represent respect, memorably worn by a tearful David Beckham in his final appearance in professional football as the newly crowned 12-13 League champions debuted this design against Brest.
Inspired by the uniform worn in their first ever game against Sweden, the US Centennial home shirt is a stylish celebration of the Federations 100th year. The wide V-neck and sleeve cuffs present a departure from modern design paying homage to the original, whilst the crest is interwoven featuring 13 stars and stripes to replicate the motif of the 1913 kit, and symbolise the first American flag of the original 13 colonies.
“We think that if you have a conversation about the coolest kits in the world, then our third kit should be a part of that dialogue” remarked Kansas marketing executive John Moncke upon release of this third shirt. Surely taking inspiration from the Belgium 84’, the argyle pattern combines the club colours to create a design intended to fuse fashion and football shirts, apparently.
