Today marks 53 years since Nike were founded.
The first Italy x Nike home shirt was released after the 1994 World Cup. The Italian FA wouldn’t allow the Azzurri to wear the manufacturer logos on their kits until 1999. However, the replicas were still sold with the Nike logos on the chest and the official Nike label to the lower front.
2011-12 Inter Milan Home Shirt
Designed in the iconic Nerazzurri colours, the 2011-12 Inter Milan Home Shirt offered a classic interpretation of the club’s famed black and blue stripes, an enduring feature of Inter shirts since the club's founding in 1908. For this edition, Nike reintroduced a collar design last seen on the 2009-10 Away Shirt, featuring a black retro-style collar with a large concealed button placket.
A subtle touch of local pride, the white and red flag of the City of Milan was placed on the inside of the collar. Worn by legends such as Wesley Sneijder, Javier Zanetti, and Diego Milito, this shirt remains a fan favourite from a transitional era in Inter’s history.
