During the 2023-24 season Real Madrid clinched their 5th ever European double. After an El Classico final in the Supercopa de Espana, they took home the trophy and cleaned up the league with four games to spare. Celebrating their 36th La Liga title, Los Blancos marched on to their 15th Champions League, beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. The European triumph meant manager Carlo Ancelotti with 5 titles to his name, the most amongst managers, and veterans Dani Carvajal, Luka Modric, Nacho and Toni Kroos equalling the record 6 European Cup titles; it would be the latters final club appearance, retiring from club football with a win in his final game
