Astonishingly finishing 6th by the end of the season they secured Europa League qualification with a win against Strasbourg on the final match day. Elsewhere they made it to the Coupe de France final, losing out on the trophy to PSG in a tightly contested final; Alexandre Lacazette was the clubs standout performer totaling 22 goals across all competitions as Lyon climbed their way through the table and into Europe
