It was the first Derby della Capitale in a Coppa Italia final, when both Rome teams played at their home stadium in their home city. The game ended in I Biancocelesti's victory, sealed by a single goal from Senad Lulic in the 71st minute. During the 2022-23 campaign, Biancocelesti finished 2nd in Serie A with Ciro Immobile scoring 12 goals
