The 2021-22 campaign was a season of vital re-establishment for Blackpool as The Seasiders, under the charge of Neil Critchley, clawed their way to a respectable 16th-place finish in their triumphant return to the Championship after promotion. The team was built on a mixture of grit and attacking spark, delivered by the reliable veteran Gary Madine, whose 9 crucial league goals led the line, including a decisive New Year's Day penalty winner against Hull. The memorable year, defined by their successful fight to consolidate their place in the second tier, proved that the club was firmly back in the professional elite.
