Special edition fourth shirt released to commemorate the iconic link between Gli Azzurri and the legend of the game Diego Maradona, who graced the historic Italian giants in the 1980s and 1990s with some of the great performances the sport had ever seen as well as bringing the club its only two Serie A trophies. The design's elegant sky blue and white vertical stripes is in homage to Maradona's Argentinian roots, and was worn in an emotional affair against Roma following the great man's passing in November 2020. Such was the strength of bond between player and club that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis would rename the club's stadium the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in his honour
