The Nix enjoyed a successful regular season as they finished in 3rd spot, the highest place since joining the league in 2007, but could not continue this good form in the Play-offs where they were knocked out in the Elimination round by Perth Glory. Phoenix also competed in the FFA Cup but suffered an early exit to Brisbane Strikers after losing in the penalty shoot-out
