The 2019-20 campaign was a season of solid consolidation for Stockport County as County secured a respectable 8th-place finish in the National League, their play-off ambitions ultimately curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading the charge was midfielder Elliot Osborne, whose 9 goals proved vital in a campaign built on renewed stability in the professional ranks and a determined push for the top seven before the season was halted. It was a frustrating year that marked a close challenge for a return to the Football League and remains a defining chapter in the club's modern history.
