This shirt was due to be released as the Chinese national team's away shirt in 2018, only to be rejected by the Chinese FA hours before it was due to release. The ban, however, was enacted too late to prevent international sales and the shirt sold out within hours. The exact reason that it was pulled is unknown, but is believed to be related to its use of a dragon in the design, which is a sacred symbol in Chinese culture and symbolises dynasty, and also the colour black, which symbolises death in Chinese culture.
