Home shirt released as the club continued to adjust to life outside of the top flight and made the big name signing of John Terry to help the Villians on their quest to gain promotion back to the Premier League. Steve Bruce's side came as close as they could to earning that goal after reaching the play-off final but could not get past a strong Fulham outfit. Terry would feature 36 times and score 1 goal in his only season at Villa Park before announcing his retirement, he would subsequently be appointed assistant head coach under Dean Smith for the following season
