Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Negredo in the Premier League match against Sunderland, played at the Stadium of Light on 21st August 2016. The grudge match between these two North East rivals got off to a great start for Boro with a superb goal from Cristhian Stuani in the opening 15 minutes, the Uruguayan making a nice surge forward before unleashing a thunderbolt that was rifled past Vito Mannone and into the top corner. Stuani linked up with with Negrado and scored his second of the game just before half time to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 lead over their local rivals. The Black Cats hit back in the second half through Patrick van Aanholt's goal but they couldn't find an equaliser and Boro held on for a big win. Negrado started the game and came off in added time for David Nugent having provided assists for both goals, the Spaniard made 39 appearances for the side this season scoring 10 goals as Boro were relegated back to the Championship. Highlights for the former Man City and Sevilla man included a brace in the 2-2 draw with Leicester and a hat-trick in the 3-0 thumping of Swansea. He was on loan in the North East from Valencia and this was his only season at the Riverside before joining Beşiktaş int he summer of 2017.
