The 2015-16 campaign was a tense, dramatic fight for survival for Shrewsbury Town as Salop battled through their first season back in League One following promotion. Ultimately finishing a precarious 20th, safety was only secured at the last gasp following the final home match, sparing the club from an immediate relegation back to the fourth tier. The highlight of the season was a memorable run to the FA Cup Fifth Round for the first time since 1991, culminating in a glamorous home tie against Manchester United. Leading the vital charge for goals in the league was the brilliant Crystal Palace loanee Sullay Kaikai, whose 12 goals in just 26 appearances proved decisive in the desperate fight to cling on to their League One status.
