The 2011-12 campaign was a sensational year for Fulham as The Cottagers secured a respectable 9th-place finish in the Premier League under manager Martin Jol. Leading the charge was the sensational American forward Clint Dempsey, whose 17 league goals (23 in all competitions) proved decisive in a campaign built on attacking flair and memorable moments, including a stunning free-kick for his 50th Premier League goal. Highlights included a historic 6-0 demolition of local rivals Queens Park Rangers and a run to the Europa League group stage after qualifying via the Fair Play League. It was a standout year that marked Dempsey's best-ever season, setting a record for an American in the Premier League, and remains a defining chapter in the club's modern history.
