The 2011-12 campaign delivered a spectacular season for Dundee United as The Terrors secured a superb 4th-place finish in the Scottish Premier League, a crucial achievement that secured a prized spot in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Leading the charge with immense scoring power was the talismanic captain Jon Daly, whose 19 league goals, out of a total of 22 for the season, proved decisive in securing a top-four spot for Peter Houston's side. Although the European adventure ended early and the cup runs stalled at the Quarter-Finals, this season established Dundee United as a genuine European contender, built on attacking flair and Daly's prolific finishing, and remains a proud chapter in Tannadice Park history.
