The 2011-12 campaign saw Chievo Verona, under the steady guidance of Domenico Di Carlo for much of the season, secure a very respectable 10th-place finish in Serie A. Leading the charge for the Gialloblu was their legendary captain Sergio Pellissier, whose 8 crucial league goals anchored a consistent season and saw him win his fourth Cangrande award. It was a proud year that featured a major milestone when Pellissier scored his historic 100th goal for the club against Novara, firmly cementing his status as a true Chievo icon and defining a chapter of top-flight stability for the "Flying Donkeys."
