The 2010-11 campaign was an incredibly tense and turbulent 50th-anniversary season for RCD Mallorca as Los Bermellones narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 17th in La Liga by a single point. Under new manager Michael Laudrup, the team battled massive financial upheaval, including a declaration of bankruptcy and the controversial removal from the Europa League despite qualifying the previous season. Spearheading the survival effort was the powerful centre-forward Pierre Webó, whose 11 league goals, including several crucial late winners, proved decisive in securing their top-flight status for another year, marking a defiant chapter in the club's history.
