The 2009-10 campaign for Paris Saint-Germain was a season of dramatic dichotomy. Although the Ligue 1 campaign was turbulent, ending in a disappointing 13th-place finish, the club salvaged their season with glorious silverware in the Coupe de France. Leading the attack in the league was Mevlüt Erdinç, whose 15 goals were crucial. The defining moment, however, was the hard-fought 1-0 extra-time victory over rivals Monaco in the Final, sealed by a dramatic header from Guillaume Hoarau, a triumph that secured a European berth and provided immense relief for the club under huge pressure.
