Infamous shirt with three-quarter sleeve design as worn by full back Mears during his loan spell from Championship side Derby in the 2008-09 season. Mears had caused controversy at parent club Derby by travelling to Marseille for a trial without permission. He was initially fined six week's wages by Derby, who then agreed a loan deal with Marseille for Mears' service. Mears only played seven times for the club in his season on loan, with the highlight moment being a winning header in extra time of a UEFA Cup knockout match vs Ajax. One of the most baffling transfers and number choices (#8) that we've seen!
