The 2007-08 season was a historic landmark for the Boston Celtics, featuring the greatest single-season turnaround in NBA history as the team improved from 24 to 66 wins. Led by the newly formed Big Three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen, the Celtics finished with the league's best record and the top-ranked defense. The season culminated in the franchise's 17th NBA championship after a thrilling 4-2 victory over the rival Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals, with Paul Pierce earning Finals MVP honors and Kevin Garnett being named Defensive Player of the Year. A 2020 Hall of Fame inductee and the 2008 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kevin Garnett was a legendary power forward who led the Boston Celtics to an NBA championship in 2008 and earned five All-Star selections during his six seasons with the franchise.
