Away shirt as worn by Hummels in his first season at the Westfalenstadion when the side reached the DFB Pokal Final losing out to his parent club Bayern after extra-time. The German defender joined Dortmund on loan from arch rivals Bayern in January 2008 and went on to make a total of 16 appearances that term, forming a strong partnership with Neven Subotić. Hummels made a great impression in his loan spell with Die Schwarzgelbe, with the club making his loan deal permanent in February 2009, paying Bayern just €4m for the services of the man who would go on to become Dortmund's club captain and make over 350 appearances for Der BVB
