Away shirt as worn in the cup run to The Millennium Stadium, where United picked up the League Cup trophy, defeating Wigan Athletic 4-0 in the final. The Red Devils could not replicate the same success in the league, with rivals Chelsea being crowned Premiership champions.  The shirt is also remembered for the brilliant volley by Ruud van Nistelrooy away at The Valley
