The rising star keeper who came through the club's famed youth academy established himself as the #1 in this campaign making 41 appearances in all competitions. The side reached the Champions League knockout stage and won the KNVB Beker with a 2-1 victory over rivals PSV in this season. This design was used at the end of 05-06 before going on to be the kit for the 06-07 season. Stekelenburg went on to become the successor to Edwin van der Sar for the national team and would be the keeper in the 2010 World Cup Final making over 50 appearances. He was tempted to Serie A by Roma and also spent time in England with Fulham, Southampton and Everton
