Rangers pipped city rivals Celtic to the title by just one point with the two Glasgow sides finishing over 30 points clear of 3rd place Hibernian. Rangers dominated the League Cup, dispatching Aberdeen and Celtic before a comprehensive 7-1 mauling of Dundee United in the Semi-Final set up a Final meeting with Motherwell. Alex McLeish’s men carried their form on in the Final, with goals from Ross, Ricksen, Novo and a brace from Kyrgiakos sealing a 5-1 victory
