Die Blauen had enjoyed a decent run so far in the competition frist beating Wattenscheid 3-1 before pipping 1860 Munich in a shootout at Grünwalder Stadion in the second round. They faced holders Bremen here and took the Bundesliga outfit to extra-time before falling to a 3-1 defeat in a true David and Goliath tie. Labak played the full match and scored after half time to cancel out Daniel Jensen's opener, the former Stuttgarter Kickers man made 32 appearnaces for the side this season as they suffered relegation to the Regionalliga on goal difference in a heart-breaking season.
