The 2003-04 campaign delivered a triumphant return to the second tier for Queens Park Rangers as The Hoops, under the fiery leadership of manager Ian Holloway, surged to a 2nd-place finish in the Nationwide Division Two, securing automatic promotion. Leading the charge was club legend Kevin Gallen, whose 17 league goals, alongside Paul Furlong's 16, proved decisive in a historic season built on an incredible home record: they were the only team in the entire Football League not to lose a game at Loftus Road. The season culminated in a dramatic final-day 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, a result that sealed their place back in the Championship and remains a defining chapter of the club's modern history.. The 2004-05 campaign delivered a year of crucial consolidation for Queens Park Rangers as The Hoops firmly established themselves in the inaugural Football League Championship, finishing a comfortable 11th in the league. Manager Ian Holloway's side enjoyed a stunning seven-game winning streak early on, which briefly propelled the newly-promoted team into the playoff spots, before they settled into a safe mid-table position. Leading the charge with his characteristic drive and power was the beloved veteran striker Paul Furlong, whose 18 league goals proved decisive, marking a successful first season back in the second tier after their turbulent years.
