Away shirt as worn in City’s first season at the City of Manchester Stadium where Kevin Keegan’s men managed a 16th place finish in the Premier League. City played a pre-season friendly with Barcelona to officially open the stadium with the Blues winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Anelka and Sinclair. City couldn’t translate this to league form though with City avoiding relegation by just 8 points, thanks in part to top scorer Nicolas Anelka’s goals, who scored 16 league goals, 24 in all competitions. Undoubtedly the highlight of the campaign for City fans was the 4-1 home win against bitter rivals Manchester United thanks to goals from Fowler, Macken, Sinclair and Wright-Phillips
