Notes - Home shirt as worn in a season of transition for the Blaugrana which saw the departure of long-serving captain Pep Guardiola precede a mediocre 4th place finish in La Liga. In Europe, on the other hand, Carles Rexach’s men produced some strong performances in the Champions League including a notable 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, eventually being knocked out by fierce rivals (and eventual winners) Real Madrid. Patrick Kluivert ended the campaign as the clubs top scorer with 25 in all competitions. As worn by Xavi in a season of transition for the Blaugrana. Long-serving captain Pep Guardiola left the club and a void in midfield which Xavi would pounce upon. The young Spaniard flourished in the centre of midfield for Barca and would go on to become a crucial part of the Catalan's midfield for the best part of 15 years. Xavi made 52 appearances in 2001-02 and 44 appearances in 2002-03, scoring 7 times and assisting 20 times across the two seasons. Xavi would go on to make 767 appearances for Barca, scoring 85 times
