Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Neuville in the Champions League Quarter-Finals 1st Leg match against Liverpool played at Anfield on the 3rd April 2002. This season would go down as nearly one of the greatest in the club's history. An epic campaign in which they came so close to winning a Treble of the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League but somehow ended up empty handed. A fantastic side that included the likes of Ballack, Neuville himself, Nowotny, Ze Roberto and Lucio they were the surprise package in Europe this year. Here they lost out 1-0 as Hyypia got the goal just before the half time. Next to a young Dimitar Berbatov, the forward with pace to burn Neuville played 74 minutes and was a constant menace in this season scoring 22 goals in all competitions. The Swiss-born Neuville represented Germany 69 times at international level playing at three major tournaments.
