Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Gallacher during the 1999-00 season. The Scottish international joined the Toon this season after a 6 year stint in Lancashire with Blackburn and made 25 appearances in all competitions as Bobby Robson took the reigns at St James' and guided the side to an 11th placed finish. Highlights for Gallacher this season included goals in wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Watford in the League and a tally against Sheffield United in the FA Cup. He stayed on for one more season in the North East before joining Preston North End in 2001 as a lengthy career wound down. The 53 time Scottish international had started out at Dundee United before having spells with Coventry and Blackburn who he would help with the Premier League in 1994-95. He also appeared for the Scottish national side at 3 major tournaments Euro 92', Euro 96' and France 98'.
