This was a warm-up match ahead of the start of the qualifying campaign for the 2000 Olympics which would be held in Sidney and was arranged due to the Holland connections that Al-Nasr had with Leo van Veen and Ben Wijnstekers in their staff alongside the midfielder Geert Brusselers. Han Berger's men won the match 4-1.
