Rare away shirt as worn by the 1998 Serie A Young Footballer of the Year Award Alessandro Nesta. The talented centre back would sit out the first few months of the season due to injury, returning to the field in December. As captain, Nesta would lead Lazio in the title race, ultimately finishing second in the Serie A, just one point behind Milan. He did, however, win the first two trophies at a European level for the Biancocelesti: the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, won against Mallorca, and, in August, the European Super Cup over Manchester United
