The 1998-99 season was a foundational year for the Boston Celtics, highlighted by the arrival of rookie star Paul Pierce, who earned All-Rookie First Team honors after a stellar debut. Despite a lockout-shortened 50-game schedule, the team remained competitive behind the leadership of Antoine Walker and Ron Mercer, finishing with a 19-31 record. The Celtics also showcased strong fan support, ranking ninth in the league in home attendance at the FleetCenter. The 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft, Paul "The Truth" Pierce became a Hall of Fame forward and Boston Celtics legend who earned 10 All-Star selections and led the franchise to the 2008 NBA Championship as the Finals MVP.
