Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Bjørnebye for the UEFA Cup First Round 2nd Leg match against Celtic, played at Anfield on 30th September 1997. The Reds had come from behind to draw 2-2 at Celtic Park a fortnight earleir thanks to a late Steve McManaman goal despite Michael Owen's early goal initally giving them the lead. A less entertaining game here saw the sides play out a 0-0 stalemate on Merseyside as Roy Evans' men progressed to the next round where they would lose out to French outfit Strasbourg. Bjørnebye played the full match against Celtic and featured in all 4 UEFA Cup matches this season. The defender was in his 6th season at Anfield having joined from Rosenborg back in 1992. He made 32 appearances in all competitions this year as the Reds finished 3rd in the Premier League. The 76 time Norwegian international stayed on for another 2 years with the side before joining Blackburn Rovers in 2001 as his career winded down.
