Rare home shirt as worn by Eric Cantona during his tumultuous year-long spell at Nîmes. Following an on-field outburst towards an official, Cantona was slapped with a two-month ban and a disciplinary hearing in front of the French Football Federation. In typically volatile fashion, the forward dished out some scathing remarks to those involved, which subsequently extended his ban and acted as the pre-cursor for his abrupt retirement from the game. After persuasion and advice from Michel Platini and Gérard Houllier, he returned to football but moved to England.
