The 1990-91 campaign delivered a spectacular debut for Parma as Il Crociati achieved a stunning 6th-place finish in their first-ever Serie A season, immediately securing a coveted spot in the UEFA Cup. Under manager Nevio Scala, the team was built on solid foundations and new stars like Swedish talent Tomas Brolin and Brazilian goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel.
