Everton once again missed out on European football, finishing 10 points behind 5th place Tottenham, mainly due to the number of draws and lack of goals in the side, with Marouane Fellaini finishing as top scorer on 11 goals. This season would also mark the end of Moyes’ 11-year association with Everton after he agreed to take over at Manchester United following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson
