Player - Tough tackling defender Kirk Broadfoot #2
Features
Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Broadfoot for the Scottish League Cup Semi-Final against Falkirk played at Hampden Park on 27th January 2009. The Gers had beaten Partick Thistle and Hamilton Academical to make it this far and faced a Falkirk side they had already beaten twice in the SPL this season. A first-half brace from Spanish striker Nacho Novo did the bulk of the damage here as Rangers booked their place in the final running out 3-0 winners after a late Kris Boyd goal. Broadfoot played the full match and featured in all 4 of the side's League Cup matches this season as they went on to lose out to Celtic in Extra-time in the Final. The defender was in his second season with the Gers after joining from St Mirren in 2007 and made 34 appearances in all competitions this season as the side went on to win a Scottish FA Cup and SPL double. He stayed on for another 4 seasons in Glasgow before joining English Championship outfit Blackpool in 2012 and went on to have stints with Rotherham and Kilmarnock.
