Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Cox for the 2004-05 season. This was the defender's second season at Preistfield and he made 33 appearances in all competitions as the side suffered relegation to League One with a 22nd place finish. A heartbreaking campaign for the Gills saw them succumb to the drop on the final day when after leading 2-1 against Nottingham Forest with 5 minutes to play Stan Ternent's men conceded and had to settle for a point. Whereas relegation rivals Crewe pulled off a late 2-1 win over Coventry to pip Gillingham on goal difference. Former Bournemouth Cox had joined the side from Burnley in 2003 and went on to make just under 200 appearances for Gillingham before joining Maidstone in 2008.
