Features
Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by de Jong for the 2000 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group A match against Spain, played at Štadión na Sihoti in Trenčín on 29th May 2000. The Oranje had qualified for the tournament in Slovakia after beating Belgium in the Playoffs. They had come from behind to beat Croatia 2-1 in their opening Group game but fell to a 3-1 loss against the Czech Republic. A win against Spain was needed to progress but the side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat here after an early Miguel Ángel Angulo goal. de Jong played the full match and featured twice in the competition as Holland couldn't make it out of the group stage. He would never win a senior cap for his country but enjoyed club spells with Den Haag, Utrecht and PSV.
