Player - Young up and coming midfielder Gavin McCann #17
Features
Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by McCann for the Dave Watson Testimonial Game against Rangers, played at Goodison Park on 16th July 1997. The match was to honor legendary centre-back Watson who had joined the Toffees in 1986 from Norwich and helped the side with the First Division title in his debut season before going on to make 522 career appearances for the club. Scottish giants Rangers were the opposition of choice as the Toffees ran out 3-2 winners over the Glasgow outfit thanks to goals from Branch, Stuart and Barmby. McCann started on the bench but came on for Tony Grant at the break. The midfielder was still coming up through the ranks at Goodison and break into the first team in 1997-98 before joining Sunderland. The one time England international later had spells with Aston Villa and Bolton.
