Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by van Wolfswinkel for the Champions League Group A match against Manchester United, played at Old Trafford on 12 September 2017. The hosts ran out 3-0 winners in this one after goals from Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford. van Wolfswinkel played 66 minutes before coming off for Kevin Bua, Basel recovered from this set back thumping Benfica 5-0 at St. Jakob-Park in their next fixture and finished second in Group A to qualify for the knockout phase. The side even managed to beat the Red Devils 1-0 at home thanks to Michael Lang's late winner before losing out to Manchester City despite an away leg victory. van Wolfswinkel was in his first season with the side after joining from Vitesse, the striker had recovered from a poor spell in England with Norwich City and fired in 12 goals in 26 appearances this season.
