Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Jónasson for the friendly match against Sweden played at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg on 30th May 2012. This was the first meeting between the sides since a huge 5-0 win for the Swedes back in 2007. A much closer game here saw early goals from Zlatan Ibrahimović and Ola Toivonen give the hosts a healthy lead. Kolbeinn Sigþórsson pulled one back for Iceland before the break. An 80th minute Christian Wilhelmsson goal sealed victory for Swedes but a stoppage time goal from Jónasson himself meant the game finished 3-2 on an entertaining night in Gothenburg. Jónasson played the full match and won 16 caps in total for his country between 2006-17 . The defender enjoyed his best club spells with Denmark with SønderjyskE, Lyngby and Odense.
