Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been prepared for van Persie for a friendly match against Denmark played at Philips Stadium, Eindhoven on 29th May 2008. The match finished 1-1 with van Nistelrooy giving the Oranje the lead after 30 minutes only for Poulsen to peg them back shortly after half time. The Arsenal striker was not selected for these rounds of fixtures because of concerns about an injury he had picked up the month before, and not wanting to aggravate it before the upcoming Euro 2008, but the shirt was still prepared for him as he had been called up to the side. The deadly striker first appeared for Holland in 2005, going on to make 102 appearances and scoring 50 goals which made him the country's all-time leading goal scorer for the men's team, before retiring in 2017. He also enjoyed a successful playing career, starting and finishing with Feyenoord, with spells for Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbache in between, and in the process becoming one of the best strikers of his generation
