Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Howard for the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final 1st Leg against Preston North End, played at Deepdale on 8th May 2009. The Blades had finished 3rd in The Championship under Kevin Blackwell, narrowly missing out on the automatic promotion spots just 3 points behind runners-up Birmingham City. They faced a Preston outfit that had squeaked into the Play-Offs on the final day and the sides played out a 1-1 draw in this one in Lancashire. Sean St Ledger gave the hosts the lead 21 minutes in but Howard himself found an equaliser just seconds after the break. The Blades went on to triumph 1-0 in the 2nd Leg at Bramall Lane before losing out to Burnley in the final at Wembley. Howard played the full match at Deepdale and was on loan at the side from Yorkshire rivals Barnsley this season making 32 appearances for The Blades.
