Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Cole during the 2008-09 season. The legendary striker joined his hometown club from Sunderland on a free transfer in July as the Reds struggled for form in their first season back in the Championship. The former Newcastle and Manchester United man struggled, making just 11 appearances and not finding the net before having his contract cancelled by mutual consent in October. A 5-time Premier League winner with United Cole had also been a key part of that iconic Red Devils squad who had claimed the a League, Cup and Champions League Treble in 98-99'. After leaving Old Trafford he had a 3-year stint with Blackburn before becoming somewhat of a journeyman and decided to hang up his boots following his spell as the City Ground. This Umbro template celebrated the 30th anniversary of the club's European Cup victories.
