Notes - Ultra-rare Umbro X-Boot Destroyer Boots issued to then Portsmouth and England goalkeeper David James during 2007/08. James signed a one-year extension ahead of the new season and enjoyed an exceptional campaign, keeping 16 clean sheets in 35 Premier League appearances as Pompey finished 8th under Harry Redknapp. On January 30th 2008, the shot-stopper joined Ryan Giggs and Gary Speed as only the third player ever to make 500 Premier League appearances - although the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United is often remembered for Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational first half free-kick. Portsmouth finished the season in style, beating Cardiff City 1-0 at Wembley to secure their second FA Cup triumph and European qualification for the first time in the clubs history.
